Privacy Policy

Reeliva is a personal fishing logbook. This policy describes what it stores, where, and why.

1. Who we are

Reeliva ("Reeliva", "we", "us") is operated by Litesoc Sdn. Bhd.. You can reach us at privacy@reeliva.app.

2. Using Reeliva without an account

Reeliva can be used as a guest, without giving us any personal information. In guest mode:

• Your catches, sessions, spots, photos, fishing buddies and preferences are stored only in a database on your device.
• None of that information is transmitted to us or to anyone else.
• We have no account for you and cannot identify you.
• If you delete the app, that data is deleted with it. Because we never receive it, we cannot recover it for you.

Weather is the exception. If weather recording is on, looking up the conditions sends an approximate location to us and, from us, to our weather provider. That happens on every plan, including guest. It carries nothing that identifies you and no part of your logbook — see Weather below. Turning weather recording off in Profile › Weather stops it, and a guest who does so transmits nothing at all.

3. Information we collect when you create an account

Account information

When you create an account we store an account identifier and your email address. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive an identity token from that provider and, on your first sign-in only, the name and email address you choose to share. We never receive your Apple or Google password.

If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we only ever see Apple's relay address.

Your fishing records

If you subscribe to Reeliva Pro, cloud backup is enabled and the following is stored on our servers so it can be restored and synchronised:

• Catches — species, weight, length, date and time, lure, method, whether the fish was kept or released, and your notes.
• Fishing sessions — start and end times and the spot they took place at.
• Fishing spots — the name you gave them, a general region, and coordinates.
• Fishing buddies — the names, and optional photos, that you record for the people you fish with.
• Your profile — display name, username, optional bio, general home region and favourite species.

Location

If you allow location access, Reeliva records the coordinates of a catch and of the fishing spots you create. This is a core feature of a fishing logbook: it is how the map and your spot history work.

Precise coordinates are treated as private. They are never shown to other people, and Reeliva has no feature that publishes them. Reeliva does not track your location in the background — a position is only read when you are logging a catch, starting a session, and Home can reuse a saved spot location for current conditions.

Your precise coordinates are not sent to anyone outside Reeliva. The one way location leaves your device other than your own cloud backup is the weather lookup described below, which uses an approximate position rather than the precise one.

You can decline location permission and continue using Reeliva; new catches can be saved without a position. Previously saved coordinates can still be used for weather lookups; the controls below govern those requests.

Weather

Reeliva records the weather with your catches and sessions, and shows current conditions on the home screen. To find out what the weather is, it has to say where.

What we send. An approximate latitude and longitude, rounded to about one kilometre. Historical recovery also uses the selected catch’s historical date/time to request the corresponding hour. It goes first to Reeliva's own weather service, which then asks our weather provider, Apple Weather, for the conditions there. Only approximate location is sent to Apple, never precise fishing GPS. Precise coordinates remain private Reeliva logbook data. Apple also receives the environmental date/time needed for a historical lookup.

What we do not send. Your name, username, email, account or profile; your catch notes; the species, lure or fishing method; your fishing buddies; your photos; your subscription information; or any identifier for your device. Apple receives the environmental lookup, without your account or customer identity.

When it happens. Only when there is a location to look up — logging a catch or starting a session at a place with coordinates, or showing current conditions on the home screen. Current weather is available on every plan, including as a guest. Historical recovery is a separate Pro action you explicitly confirm. It does not automatically process your older catches and does not replace existing provider or manually recorded weather.

Turning it off. Profile › Weather. It is on by default. Switching auto-capture off stops automatic current-weather lookups and capture. Conditions already saved stay on those catches. Historical recovery remains a separate request you can choose to make, using previously saved coordinates and times.

Earlier observations. Legitimate observations originally recorded by Open-Meteo retain that attribution. An older catch can instead carry Apple historical weather if you later recover missing or legacy weather; the catch date alone does not determine its provider. Open-Meteo is no longer used for new observations, and Reeliva never switches to it automatically — it remains available only as a deliberate configuration change if Apple Weather were ever unavailable to us.

Photos

Photos you attach to a catch, and profile or buddy pictures you choose, are copied into Reeliva's own storage on your device. If you are a Pro subscriber they are also uploaded to our private cloud storage so they survive losing your phone.

That storage is not public. Files are readable only by the account that owns them, except for a profile picture, which follows the visibility you choose in your privacy settings. Photos of fishing buddies are never visible to anyone but you.

Reeliva only reads the images you explicitly pick. It does not scan your photo library.

Fishing buddies — information about other people

Fishing buddies are names you type in. Most people recorded this way will never use Reeliva and have not agreed to anything, so we treat this information conservatively: a buddy list is private to the account that created it, is never searchable by anyone else, and is never used to contact anyone. Please only record details you are comfortable keeping.

Subscriptions

Reeliva Pro is sold through the App Store or Google Play. Those stores process your payment — Reeliva never receives your card number or billing details.

We use RevenueCat, a subscription management service, to tell the app whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat receives your account/customer identifier, along with the purchase and renewal status reported by the store. Reeliva also uses the authenticated account identifier to verify Pro access to historical recovery server-side. RevenueCat does not receive catch locations, historical weather lookup contents, species, lure, notes, buddies or photos from these checks.

4. What we do not collect

• No analytics or tracking. Reeliva contains no analytics, attribution or advertising software.
• No advertising, and no sharing of your information with advertisers.
• No sale of personal information, in any jurisdiction, under any definition.
• No contacts, microphone, calendar or health data.
• No background location.

6. Who we share information with

We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only with the service providers that make the app work:

• Supabase — hosts our database, authentication and file storage.
• Apple — provides current and historical hourly weather through Apple Weather. It receives approximate location and the environmental time needed for historical recovery, never precise fishing GPS, account identity or other catch contents. Existing legitimate Open-Meteo observations retain their original attribution.
• RevenueCat — manages subscription status using account/customer identity, without catch or weather-location contents.
• Apple and Google — process payments, and provide sign-in if you use it.

We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to protect our rights or someone's safety.

7. Where your data is held

Our database and file storage are operated by Supabase and may be processed in a country other than yours. By using cloud backup you understand your information may be transferred internationally.

8. How long we keep it

We keep your account data while your account exists. When you delete a record it is marked as deleted so the deletion reaches your other devices, then removed.

Deleting your account removes your account data from our systems. Data held only on your device is removed by deleting the app.

9. Your choices and rights

• Use Reeliva without an account. Your logbook stays on your device; only weather lookups, if left on, send an approximate location.
• Turn off weather recording in Profile › Weather. This stops automatic current lookups and capture; historical recovery remains a separate action you explicitly request.
• Decline location. The app works without it. Existing saved coordinates can still support weather requests under the controls above.
• Delete your account from within the app, under Profile.
• Request a copy of the data associated with your account by emailing us.
• Correct your profile at any time in the app.

Depending on where you live you may have additional rights, including under the GDPR or the CCPA. Contact us and we will honour them.

10. Security

Connections use HTTPS. Access to cloud data is enforced per-account at the database level, so one account cannot read another's records. Your sign-in credentials are held in the device keychain, not in ordinary app storage. Photo storage is private, and access is granted through short-lived links rather than public URLs.

No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

Reeliva is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above, and will tell you in the app if the change is significant.
